Research Project: Sonar Data Processing and Computer Stereo Vision Techniques
Location: 435 Clyde Building

About

Michael Dunn is an undergraduate student at BYU-Idaho studying Electrical Engineering. He's joined the FRoSt Lab as part of the Immerse-X summer 2024 program.

Michael is interested in bionic prosthetics.

From St. Helens, Oregon, Michael enjoys running, working out, video games, DnD, TV shows and going on hikes.

Research

Michael is processing raw sidescan sonar data by appending the data together into a sonar mosaic and using longitude and latitude to get a full map from all of the sonar data collected. Michael will also be working on updating the imaging sonar driver, develop Stereo Camera Calibration Tools, as well as Depth Estimation from Stereo Camera Image Pairs.
