BlueBoat

A compact uncrewed surface vessel for autonomous surveys, mapping, and field robotics research.

The BlueBoat by Blue Robotics gives the FROST Lab a flexible platform for autonomous surface missions. Its stable twin-hull design provides space for onboard computing and mission-specific payloads, while GPS-guided waypoint navigation makes it well suited to repeatable survey paths.

We use the platform to develop and field-test surface autonomy, sensing, and cooperative operations with other marine robots. Its modular mounting options allow the vehicle to carry payloads such as cameras, sonar, acoustic equipment, and environmental sensors as research needs evolve.

Compact transport and quick deployment make the BlueBoat especially useful for reservoir and near-shore experiments, where the team can move quickly between software development and on-water validation.
