Brayden Taggart is an undergraduate studying Mechanical Engineering at BYU. He is interested in aerospace structures and UAV systems, and holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. Outside the lab, he is Structures Lead and Treasurer for BYU’s Spacecraft Club, where he helped lead a student satellite through several design iterations to its first successful launch.

Brayden was the first undergraduate researcher on a new VTOL UAV project in the FROST Lab, working with Dr. Brady Moon. He has worked on the aircraft’s structure, flight controller, and communication system, and has designed and built custom hardware like battery mounts and landing gear to support flight testing. He also helped integrate the onboard computer and camera systems used for autonomous wildlife imaging.

Outside of school and research, Brayden loves playing pickleball with his wife, playing basketball with friends, and hiking.
